PROJECT

Our customer is an Icelandic company working within aviation industry. Salesforce is a central part of their CRM platform. The role focuses on Service Cloud and on Sales cloud, where several processes were built for earlier needs and are ready for a fresh look.

We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Platform Engineer with experience in Salesforce development and administration who will join a team that includes a senior full-stack architect and two Salesforce developers working on the customer’s side. AI-assisted development is expected to be a part of how the work is done, applied where it adds real value.

WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCITING CHALLENGES

  • Keep the platform healthy: Keep the org stable, secure, and cost-effective, with Service Cloud as the main focus. Own release management, incident handling, and production health, and make sure administration such as user support, access management, and configuration changes is covered, well governed, and shared sensibly within the team.
  • Maintain and extend existing solutions: Fix and maintain existing Apex, Lightning components, and flows. Deliver small, approved enhancements with proper testing, code review, and a controlled release process. Prefer configuration over custom code, and avoid building anything that would be costly to unwind.
  • Simplify automation: Refactor complex automation, especially on Case and Email Message, using AI coding agents where they help. Break large flows into smaller, independent units with clear inputs and outputs, and move logic to middleware or other platforms where it belongs.
  • Use AI coding agents where they add real value: Use agents such as Claude Code for work like writing and refactoring Apex and LWC, generating tests, analyzing metadata, and documenting the org, and choose manual implementation when that’s the better tool. You’re accountable for everything you ship. Work within customer’s rules for AI tooling and customer data, and help build repeatable AI-assisted workflows with automated validation, testing, and code review.
  • Own the Salesforce side of integrations: Design, own, and troubleshoot the Salesforce side of integrations with customer data, loyalty, and communications systems. Work closely with the team’s architect and integration engineers on cross-system design, keeping interfaces reliable, observable, and loosely coupled, without creating unnecessary platform dependencies.
  • Support the CRM review: Provide hands-on input on what is built where, how it’s used, what it costs, and what it would take to move away: custom development, integrations, data, and license usage.
  • Stay pragmatic: Build and refactor in modular units with clear boundaries, so capabilities like case routing, claims, or refunds can be moved to another platform one at a time rather than all at once. Keep business logic out of tightly coupled triggers and point-to-point integrations, and expose data through well-defined interfaces. Document the org as you work, using AI tooling to keep it current, and keep data in a state where migration is realistic.
  • Transfer knowledge: The team must be able to read, test, and maintain everything you deliver.

WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • 8+ years in software development, including at least 5 years building on Salesforce in an enterprise environment with many connected systems, and experience setting standards and guiding other developers.
  • A track record of owning a production Salesforce org: incident handling, release management, access governance, and keeping technical debt under control.
  • Deep Service Cloud experience, including case management and routing in a high-volume contact center.
  • Hands-on Service Cloud administration in production: user and permission management (profiles, permission sets, permission set groups); queue, Omni-Channel, and skills configuration; flow and validation rule changes; report and dashboard support; sandbox refreshes and change-set or DX-based releases; and routine health checks (limits, storage, license usage).
  • Strong skills in Apex and Flow, and working knowledge of Lightning Web Components.
  • Experience running Salesforce deployment pipelines: source control (e.g. Salesforce DX with Git), automated validation and testing, and promotion between environments.
  • Proven experience refactoring complex automation, including breaking up large flows and migrating Process Builder or Workflow logic.
  • Experience designing modular Salesforce solutions with clear boundaries between components and connected systems, grounded in Salesforce architecture best practice.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code or equivalent) in real Salesforce development workflows, including refactoring complex Flow and Apex logic, with concrete examples of productivity gains, validation practices, and situations where manual implementation is preferable.
  • Solid experience with Salesforce integration patterns: REST APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and asynchronous processing. You know when orchestration belongs in middleware rather than in Salesforce, and you work well with integration engineers.
  • A pragmatic mindset: you’re comfortable saying “we shouldn’t build this in Salesforce,” and you can work professionally toward a possible exit from the platform without treating it as a threat.
  • Independent, with strong communication across business and engineering.
  • Experience of work the distributed, cross-culture environment
  • English: upper-intermediate / advanced

 WOULD BE A PLUS

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform Developer, Application Architect, Administrator).
  • Working knowledge of Marketing Cloud, particularly where it connects to Service Cloud and shared customer data.
  • Experience with data migration, system replacement, or decommissioning.
  • Experience with other CRM platforms.
  • Background in aviation, travel, and/or loyalty programs.

WE OFFER YOU

  • Modern technologies, new products development, different business domains.
  • Start-up agility combined with mature delivery practices and management team.
  • Strong focus on your technical and personal growth.
  • Transparent career development and individual development plan.
  • Flexible working mode (remote/work from office), full remote possibility.
  • Competitive compensation and social package
  • Focus on the well-being and human touch.
  • Flat organization where everyone is heard and is invited to contribute.
  • Work-life balance approach to work.
  • Passion and Fun in everything we do.
