About the client

Our client develops technology that makes industrial environments safer through real-time monitoring.

The Ukrainian engineering team is building an industrial safety platform combining Computer Vision, Machine Learning and IoT.

 

About the role

We are looking for a Middle Systems / Software Engineer to work on the performance-critical core of a real-time Computer Vision platform.

 

This is not a typical Python Backend role. The focus is on high-performance systems, real-time data processing, memory and data movement, CPU/GPU utilisation, concurrency and low latency.

 

You’ll work on a runtime that executes CV/ML pipelines as a graph of processing stages and help build reliable, efficient infrastructure for model inference and real-time video processing.

 

What we’re looking for

We are open to engineers with backgrounds in C++, Python, Go or similar. The programming language is secondary — strong systems thinking and relevant practical experience matter more.

 

Must-have:

  • Commercial Software / Systems Engineering experience.
  • Experience with performance- or latency-sensitive systems.
  • Strong understanding of processes, concurrency, memory and data movement.
  • Experience with profiling, debugging and performance optimisation.
  • Solid Linux fundamentals.
  • Experience with at least one of C++, Python, Go or similar.

     

Particularly relevant experience includes:

  • Model inference / CV pipelines.
  • Real-time video or camera processing.
  • GPU / CUDA optimisation.
  • Performance-critical data processing.
  • Robotics or other real-time systems.
  • Optimisation of CPU/GPU utilisation and data transfer.

     

Nice to have

  • CUDA, TensorRT.
  • OpenCV.
  • GStreamer / FFmpeg / RTSP.
  • ZeroMQ.
  • Shared memory / zero-copy.
  • C++ / Go.
  • Binary serialisation such as FlatBuffers.

     

What you’ll work on

  • Build and optimise the real-time Pipeline Engine.
  • Turn CV/ML inference code into production pipeline stages.
  • Work with shared memory and zero-copy data transfer.
  • Optimise CPU, GPU, memory usage and latency.
  • Work with inter-process communication and process orchestration.
  • Profile and debug complex runtime issues.
  • Contribute to the architecture of the real-time processing infrastructure.
