Software Engineer
The client automates the daily operational workflows of hospital groups in Europe. The team is small — a tech lead and a CTO who write code themselves. We offer long-term, remote and full-time cooperation within usual CET working hours.
Location, in order of preference: Spain (a strong plus) · any EU country · Ukraine
What you will do:
— Own a set of automations end to end: build, deploy, monitor in production, fix.
— Automate hospital portals that have no API. These portals exist only in production — there is no test copy, and some actions cannot be easily undone.
— Verify your own output: there is no QA engineer and no QA team. You will not be left on your own — the tech lead and the CTO both write code daily and we share knowledge constantly — but checking your own area of work is your responsibility.
— Use AI coding agents daily; you review and stay responsible for everything they produce.
Stack
Python 3.11+ · Playwright (async Python) · Prefect 3 · PostgreSQL (SQLAlchemy 2, Alembic) · Pydantic v2 · FastAPI · uv (package manager) · AWS (ECS, S3, CloudWatch) · Textract and Bedrock (OCR and LLM in production) · Docker · GitHub Actions.
Must have:
— Python in production — automations or services you built and ran yourself, not only in test.
— Browser automation of a portal with no API — Playwright, Selenium or Puppeteer, on at least one real, live site you automated yourself.
— Actions that cannot be undone — a repeated or resumed run never performs a completed action twice: idempotency, checkpoints, dry runs, a check before the action.
— You verify your own output — against the real data: in logs, in the database, in the output itself.
— Systems thinking — you consider how a change affects the systems around it, and you direct AI agents while keeping control of the code.

Nice to have
Healthcare or another regulated domain · experience on teams with no staging environment and no QA team · building your own tooling around AI agents · Italian or Spanish.
