Our client is a fast-growing startup focused on modernizing the way companies manage procurement and purchasing. They help organizations streamline procurement workflows, vendor management, and internal processes, allowing them to move faster, control spending, and gain better visibility. The company is small, fast-moving, and highly customer-focused. They work closely with their customers and move quickly from feedback to product improvements. Their platform is highly configurable and integrates with systems such as ERPs, CLMs, and collaboration tools.
Key Requirements:
🔹 You have solid 10+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems;
🔹 You are strong at debugging and refactoring across services, logs, and data and strive for;
🔹 Precise understanding, not hand wavy guesses;
🔹 AWS, with a heavy use of managed and serverless services;
🔹 TypeScript and Node for backend services;
🔹 Aurora Postgres;
🔹 Python for some services and data related work;
🔹 Integrations with third party APIs, ERPs, CLMs, and collaboration tools;
🔹 And flows rather than only individual endpoints;
🔹 You have taken ownership of technically challenging and evolving projects before and are;
🔹 Comfortable working through ambiguity;
🔹 You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation and are comfortable pushing back;
🔹 Asking questions, and exposing risks early;
🔹 You are good at using documentation, experimentation, and AI tools to unblock yourself and;
🔹 Accelerate your work, while still owning correctness and quality;
🔹 You care about leaving codebases and systems in a better state than you found them and;
🔹 Think about maintainability by default;
🔹 Priori experience working at a US based company is a nice to have;
🔹 English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.

What you will do:
🔹 Own features end to end and drive them from discovery through design, implementation;
🔹 Rollout, and follow up;
🔹 Work independently while collaborating smartly by unblocking yourself and asking questions;
🔹 Analyze and decompose complex work into clear, incremental steps without losing important;
🔹 Edge cases;
🔹 Communicate and debate solutions by explaining complex topics simply and leading;
🔹 Productive design discussions;
🔹 Identify and articulate tradeoffs across performance, reliability, complexity, and delivery;
🔹 Speed to guide decisions;
🔹 Design and implement backend services including APIs, background jobs, and data flows;
🔹 Across multiple domains and systems;
Interview stages:
🔹 1. Technical Interview(s) with Team Engineers;
🔹 2. Non-Technical Interview with the CTO;
Availability & Collaboration Hours
To ensure seamless collaboration across time zones, everyone is expected to be available for meetings and collaborative work for 4 hours each day, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Eastern Time (ET). This is a mandatory shared availability window for all team members, regardless of their location.
