Software Engineer
About the project
A large-scale online learning platform (LMS) for real estate agents, serving 100,000+ users. It delivers licensing and continuing education courses and covers the full journey — from enrollment and course progress to payments, identity verification, and automated communications. The codebase is a monorepo: a backend, a web frontend, a CLI tool for student data migrations, and shared packages for enrollment logic and notifications.
Project stage: Technical modernization — the product is live and revenue-generating. We’re speeding up the release cycle, gradually modernizing the architecture, and setting new development standards.
Responsibilities:
— Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js(Express) and TypeScript;
— Build frontend features with React and TypeScript;
— Work with business logic, data models (MongoDB), and third-party integrations (e.g. Sentry);
— Explore and document the existing codebase; contribute to incremental refactoring across the monorepo (backend, frontend, CLI tool, shared packages);
— Write and maintain tests (Vitest, mongodb-memory-server for unit/integration, Playwright for e2e);
— Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) daily.
Required skills:
— 1+ years of commercial experience as a Full-stack Developer;
— Working knowledge of Node.js(Express) and TypeScript;
— Working knowledge of React and TypeScript;
— Experience with MongoDB (or any NoSQL/SQL database);
— Familiarity with Git and writing tests;
— Familiarity with Azure (or another cloud platform) — will need to deploy there;
— Willingness and interest in using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) daily;
— English: Upper-intermediate or higher.
Will be a plus:
— Any experience with EdTech / LMS platforms, or e-commerce and subscription billing;
— Exposure to monorepo tooling (pnpm/npm workspaces, Turborepo, Nx or similar);
— Docker and CI/CD.
