Software Engineer
BIScience is looking for a Technical Product/Data Analyst to join our Kyiv team on a full-time basis.
BIScience offers business intelligence solutions for online advertising activities. Our solutions maximize our clients’ profits by providing insights and analytics of their online presence compared to specific competitors and entire market segments. Our main product, AdClarity, aims to maximize our clients’ profits by providing insights and analytics of their online presence compared to specific competitors and entire market segments. The product monitors 30,000,000 web pages around the world daily, running on hundreds of servers. AdClarity monitors Display, Video, In-App, and Social channels, combining robotic and panel data.
What you’ll do
- Research and define multi-level product/vertical taxonomy categories, combining AI tools (existing LLMs, classification models) with manual research
- Benchmark categories against industry standards for coverage and relevance
- Test and validate AI-generated classifications against real data, flagging edge cases
- Perform complex SQL-based analysis on large-scale datasets (Snowflake, Vertica), translating business/product questions into clear, data-driven conclusions
- Conduct deep-dive and root-cause analysis on unexpected trends, anomalies, and discrepancies
- Identify and investigate data-quality issues: missing data, duplicates, inconsistent dimensions, incorrect aggregations
- Document taxonomy decisions, analytical findings, and data structures clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Execute independently within priorities
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, research, or classification work
- Strong SQL skills: complex joins/aggregations, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, conditional logic, date/time analysis, deduplication, query optimization
- Hands-on experience with a modern analytical warehouse (Snowflake, Vertica, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar)
- Solid understanding of data-warehouse concepts: fact/dimension relationships, granularity, keys, joins, aggregation levels
- Ability to trace data through ETL/ELT pipelines to investigate where issues originate
- Experience with a BI tool (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma, or similar)
- Comfortable using AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for research and classification
- Strong written communication for documenting findings and decisions
Strong Advantage
- Working knowledge of Python (Pandas) for analysis and automation — no ML/Data Science background required
- Background in AdTech, MarTech, or digital advertising/analytics
- Experience analyzing datasets with hundreds of millions to billions of records
- Understanding of cloud data infrastructure (AWS/S3)
- Experience building automated validation/monitoring for production data
