Here, you'll have the chance to apply your unique expertise and experience to building high-performance, scalable e-commerce solutions and complex backend integrations.
 

🛠️ What You'll Be Working On
 

• Custom App Development: Design and build secure, scalable Shopify applications, backend services, and microservices using modern server-side technologies.
• Enterprise Integration: Architect and maintain robust integrations between Shopify Plus and enterprise systems, including ERPs (SAP/Oracle), CRMs (Salesforce), and global fulfillment networks.
• API & Event Architecture: Build and optimize high-volume integrations using Shopify GraphQL and REST Admin APIs, webhooks, asynchronous processing, and event-driven workflows.
• Data Pipelines & Reliability: Design reliable data pipelines and complex commerce workflows that ensure data integrity, scalability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
• Performance & Queue Management: Implement queues, message brokers, asynchronous processing, and caching layers to handle thousands of simultaneous orders and events without data loss or performance degradation.
• Identity & Authentication: Integrate centralized identity and authentication systems using SSO, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
• Shopify Extensibility: Build custom checkout, discount, and payment functionality using Shopify Functions and other Shopify extensibility frameworks.
• Architecture & Platform Improvement: Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve the platform's performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
   

🎯What We're Looking For?
 

Technical Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, including experience building and maintaining Shopify Plus solutions.
• Backend Technologies: Expert proficiency in server-side technologies like Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Python, or Go.
• Shopify Ecosystem: Deep knowledge of Shopify, including GraphQL and REST Admin APIs, webhooks, App Bridge, Shopify CLI, and Shopify Functions.
• Data & Infrastructure: Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), Redis caching, and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Middleware & Event-Driven Architecture: Hands-on experience with message queues, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures using technologies such as AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
• Distributed Systems & Reliability: Solid understanding of distributed systems, data consistency, retry strategies, fault tolerance, and reliable processing of high-volume workloads.
• DevOps & Observability: Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or Jenkins), and monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
