Software Engineer – ERP & QuickBooks Integration

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer – ERP & QuickBooks Integration to develop, maintain, and enhance our ERP platform and its integrations with QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Desktop, Payroll, CRM, and other third-party business systems.

This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role requiring strong experience with PHP, CodeIgniter (CI), Vue.js, APIs, databases, system integrations, and CI/CD.

The engineer will work directly with both technical teams and clients to understand business requirements, troubleshoot integration issues, and deliver reliable solutions for accounting, payroll, CRM, and ERP workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our web-based ERP platform using PHP, CodeIgniter, and Vue.js.
• Build and maintain integrations with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Support integration and data synchronization with QuickBooks Desktop.
• Develop QBO import/export and synchronization workflows.
• Integrate ERP modules with accounting, payroll, CRM, and other business systems.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
• Develop automated synchronization for customers, vendors, invoices, payments, bills, expenses, employees, payroll, and other financial records.
• Implement data mapping and transformation between ERP and external systems.
• Handle synchronization conflicts, duplicate records, failed transactions, and data validation.
• Develop background jobs and scheduled synchronization processes.
• Troubleshoot API, authentication, OAuth, webhook, and integration issues.
• Work on ERP modules covering accounting, payroll, customer management, reporting, invoicing, and operational workflows.
• Develop responsive frontend interfaces using Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Design and optimize relational database queries and schemas.
• Maintain and improve application performance, security, and reliability.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests.
• Maintain deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker where appropriate.
• Monitor production environments and troubleshoot application and integration failures.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and release planning.
• Communicate directly with clients to understand requirements, investigate problems, demonstrate solutions, and provide technical support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering or full-stack development experience.
• Strong experience with PHP and CodeIgniter.
• Professional experience with Vue.js.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online integrations is strongly preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop integration is a major advantage.
• Experience developing or supporting ERP, Payroll, CRM, accounting, or financial software.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Experience with third-party API integrations.
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Comfortable communicating directly with U.S.-based clients.
• Able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Available to work during U.S. business hours.

Strong integration and troubleshooting skills are especially important because the engineer will be responsible for maintaining reliable data flows between our ERP platform, QuickBooks, payroll systems, CRM platforms, and other external services.
