Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team. You will design and improve scalable backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure the reliability of a production healthcare platform. This role is a strong fit for someone who combines solid technical expertise with ownership, clear communication, and product thinking.

You will contribute to a healthcare technology product that supports better care outcomes through reliable digital workflows. The engineering environment values scalable architecture, data integrity, high code quality, thoughtful collaboration, and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs;
• Lead complex backend initiatives and contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions;
• Optimize PostgreSQL performance, refactor queries, and support zero-downtime migrations;
• Integrate third-party services and APIs into web and mobile products and ensure production readiness;
• Build and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while improving test coverage and code quality;
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows across cloud infrastructure;
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and domain stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals;
• Share knowledge, support teammates, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4+ years of professional backend software development experience;
• Strong commercial experience with Python, Flask, and PostgreSQL;
• Solid understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and scalable application design;
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining REST APIs at scale and integrating third-party services;
• Good knowledge of database design, query optimization, and production migrations;
• Strong testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels;
• Experience with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure, and Agile delivery environments;
• Ability to work independently ramp up quickly, and take ownership of delivery;
• Strong ownership and a results-oriented approach;
• Adaptability and confidence in fast-changing environments;
• Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative mindset;
• English level: Intermediate or higher.

WILL BE PLUS:

• Experience with EHR integrations and working knowledge of FHIR and JSON;
• Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes;
• Experience with AWS, Datadog, or similar cloud and observability tools;
• Experience with Redis, Celery, or other caching and background-task solutions;
• Exposure to Machine Learning or AI-powered applications;
• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech, with a focus on data integrity and compliance.
