Systems Administrator

The Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) is a national agency responsible for procuring ammunition, UAVs, military equipment, fuel, food, clothing, and other critical supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Forces.

We are looking for a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and developing our Microsoft-based IT infrastructure, ensuring system stability and availability, and supporting network infrastructure and security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft-based IT infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain software, server systems, and hardware components.
• Configure and maintain backup procedures to ensure data integrity, availability, and recoverability.
• Implement and maintain security solutions, including firewalls, antivirus software, and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
• Monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities and security threats, investigate issues, and ensure timely remediation.
• Administer and maintain server infrastructure, cloud environments, and virtualization platforms.
• Configure and support network infrastructure, VPNs, firewalls, and DNS.
• Respond promptly to system alerts and incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, and minimize service downtime.
• Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
• Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripts.

• Provide technical support to users and help resolve IT-related issues.

   

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and IIS.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure based on Microsoft Azure and the VMware virtualization platform.
• Experience administering Windows Server. Linux administration skills will be an advantage.
• Practical experience writing PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model.
• Experience configuring and managing network equipment from vendors such as MikroTik, Cisco, or Aruba.
• Experience configuring and maintaining VPNs, firewalls, and DNS.
• Understanding of backup, recovery, and system restoration procedures.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and readiness to respond to incidents promptly.

   

Will be a plus:

• Experience working with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience administering and supporting security solutions such as DLP, NGFW, EDR/XDR, PAM, and SIEM.
• Experience working with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience developing, testing, and improving IT infrastructure disaster recovery procedures.
