Systems Engineer
Altamira Robotics is looking for a motivated entry-level engineer to join a promising engineering project carried out in the interests of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, involving the development, integration, and testing of technological systems for maritime applications.
The project encompasses the creation of comprehensive surveillance, monitoring, and enemy target detection systems. These systems incorporate various optical, radar, radio-frequency, acoustic, and other sensors, data processing units, machine learning subsystems, power supply systems, as well as satellite and other communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Participation in the development, assembly, setup, integration, and testing of electronic and electromechanical systems.
- Working with various types of sensors, automation, control, communication, data collection, and processing systems.
- Integration of individual sensors and subsystems into a unified surveillance and detection system.
- Participation in field and maritime trials of the equipment.
- Technical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and participation in system refinement.
- Working with equipment operated in harsh and aggressive environments, including exposure to moisture, saltwater, temperature fluctuations, vibrations, mechanical loads, and other factors.
- Active learning and professional development under the guidance of experienced engineers and technical specialists.
Requirements
- Completed or ongoing higher engineering education in physics, radio electronics, electronics, electrical engineering, electromechanical systems, automation, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of the operating principles of electronic components, electrical circuits, and sensor systems.
- Practical skills and hands-on experience with electronics, automation, sensors, control systems, or surveillance systems.
- Ability to work with new and unfamiliar equipment and quickly master new technologies.
- Willingness to work across various technological domains: sensors, processors, communication systems, power supply, and data processing.
- Readiness for regular business trips, as well as participation in field and maritime tests.
- High motivation to learn, responsibility, technical curiosity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Would be a Plus
- Experience with personal or academic projects involving microcontrollers, single-board computers, automation, or data acquisition systems.
- Soldering, assembly, and electronic equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with radio systems, telecommunications equipment, satellite communications, or network technologies.
- Understanding of the operating principles of radars, RF systems, optical, or acoustic sensors.
- Basic programming skills and Linux proficiency.
- Interest in machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, or autonomous monitoring systems.
