We are actively seeking a Backend Technical Lead (Python) to enhance our team. With an unwavering dedication to a product engineering ethos, we meticulously craft solutions customized to fulfill the intricate business requirements of our esteemed user base.

Stack: Python 3.12, Django 5, DRF, FastAPI, Celery, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, SQLAlchemy, Django Channels, OpenAPI, Swagger, Pytest, Ruff

Requirements:

• 6+ years of commercial experience as a Python developer, including prior experience in a Tech Lead role
• Demonstrated ownership of System Design / RFC processes — driving architecture review and technical decision-making for a team
• Proven experience establishing and enforcing architectural patterns and coding standards across a team’s codebase
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives end-to-end (service decomposition, scaling efforts, major refactors)
• Thorough understanding of PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, sharding, and partitioning
• Working knowledge of MongoDB data modeling
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs between different data store technologies and choose the right one for a given use case
• Proven experience profiling and optimizing SQL and Python code
• Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms, comfortable reasoning in Big O
• Hands-on experience with Celery and message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka)
• Solid understanding of Python’s concurrency model, including the GIL, multiprocessing, multithreading, and asyncio
• Strong knowledge of DRF or FastAPI frameworks
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose
• Proficiency with Redis
• Experience with Pytest for unit/smoke / API testing
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git

Will be a plus:

• Experience with monitoring tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Datadog)
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline building
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and orchestration tooling
• Prior experience conducting technical interviews/involvement in hiring

Responsibilities:

• Own the System Design / RFC process — driving architecture review and technical decision-making for major backend initiatives
• Define and promote architectural patterns and technical standards across backend services as the team scales
• Development of new functionality from scratch
• Providing new and improving existing technical solutions
• Serve as the primary technical resource for backend engineers — providing hands-on guidance, mentoring, and advice on complex technical decisions
• Conduct technical interviews for backend engineering candidates
• Close interaction with development teams like QA, Mobile, Frontend, and DevOps
• Optimization of database performance
• Continuous planning and participation in microservices development
