About the Position
We are looking for a WordPress developer to join our build team. You will create new client websites from scratch, handle full site rebuilds, and develop sites from template-based designs. All builds are currently done in Elementor.
Key Responsibilities
- New Site Builds & Rebuilds
- Build complete WordPress websites from scratch based on Figma mockups and design direction
- Rebuild existing client sites, moving content, structure, and functionality onto a new design while keeping SEO value intact
- Develop sites from our in-house templates, adapting layouts, branding, and content to each client
- Elementor Development
- Build page templates, global widgets, headers, footers, and reusable sections
- Make sure every build is fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Keep builds clean and consistent so they are easy to maintain after launch
- Technical SEO & Launch Readiness
- Set up 301 redirects, sitemaps, schema, and meta structure during rebuilds and launches
- Check for broken links, crawl errors, and performance issues before go-live
- Test and verify all pages, forms, and functionality before handoff
- Collaboration & Communication
- Report progress and blockers clearly in Asana and Slack
- Work with SEO specialists and Account Managers to confirm requirements before and during builds
- Ask questions and propose solutions when requirements are unclear or incomplete
Required Qualifications
- WordPress Proficiency
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress core, themes, and plugins
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Elementor, including building full sites, not just editing pages
- A portfolio showing websites you built from scratch
- Design-to-Build Skills
- Ability to turn Figma designs into accurate, responsive pages
- Good eye for spacing, typography, and visual consistency
- Self-Management & Communication
- Strong English for task updates and questions
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently on remote, hourly engagements
- Attention to Detail
- Methodical testing and QA of every page before launch
DevOps & Hosting Fundamentals
- Set up new WordPress sites on hosting environments (e.g., Kinsta, WP Engine)
- Migrate sites across hosts and between staging and live environments without downtime
- Understand and manage DNS settings, SSL certificates, and CDN configuration
- Use tools like phpMyAdmin, FastPanel, SSH, and FTP/sFTP
Nice to Have
- Experience using Claude or other AI tools in your development workflow
Language Skills
- English: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher
- Russian: good to have; used for internal team communication
Interview Stages
- Technical interview (30–90 min)
- Paid test assignment, up to 6 hours
Type of engagement: Contractor agreement with a US-based company, paid hourly.
