WEB DEVELOPER

Role Overview

We are looking for a WordPress Web Developer who can take a website task from concept through implementation, testing, and live deployment.

You will work closely with our design, content, SEO, Growth, and project management teams to build, update, optimize, and troubleshoot WordPress websites for our dental marketing clients.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who can work independently within WordPress, translate designs and requirements into polished web experiences, solve technical problems, and consistently deliver high-quality work across multiple client websites.

What You'll Do

WordPress Development & Implementation

• Build, update, and customize WordPress websites from initial requirements through live deployment.
• Implement new pages, content, layouts, functionality, and design changes based on approved designs and client specifications.
• Customize WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and modules as needed.
• Work independently within WordPress to complete development tasks without requiring step-by-step technical direction.
• Use HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress functionality to implement website changes.
• Work with WordPress page builders, particularly Elementor and/or Divi.
• Translate designs from Figma and Photoshop into responsive, functional web pages.
• Develop and publish blog content and other website content.

Responsive Design & Quality Assurance

• Ensure websites are responsive and function correctly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Perform cross-browser testing and troubleshoot compatibility issues.
• Test functionality, layouts, links, forms, and other website components before deployment.
• Identify and resolve bugs, errors, and website performance issues.
• Follow established development standards, SOPs, and quality-control processes.

Website Performance & SEO

• Implement website updates with consideration for SEO, performance, accessibility, and user experience.
• Apply basic SEO principles to page structure, content implementation, metadata, links, images, and other on-page elements.
• Work with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and WordPress performance/optimization plugins.
• Help improve website performance and technical quality based on established client goals and internal standards.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with designers, content specialists, SEO specialists, Growth team members, and project managers.
• Communicate clearly about project requirements, technical limitations, progress, and issues.
• Ask appropriate questions when requirements are unclear and proactively identify potential problems.
• Manage multiple client projects and prioritize tasks according to deadlines and business requirements.
• Document development processes and significant code or configuration changes.
• Collaborate with other developers to improve reusable components, templates, workflows, and development standards.

Continuous Improvement

• Help maintain and expand our library of reusable WordPress templates, components, and custom modules.
• Contribute ideas for improving development efficiency, website quality, and internal processes.
• Stay current with WordPress, web development, responsive design, performance, accessibility, and security best practices.
• Provide basic guidance or training to clients and internal team members when needed.

Required Qualifications

These are the core requirements for the role:

WordPress Development

• Demonstrated experience building and deploying WordPress websites independently.
• Experience with WordPress theme and plugin customization.
• Ability to take a website task from requirements/design through implementation, QA, and live deployment.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one major WordPress page builder, preferably Elementor and/or Divi.

Front-End Development

• Strong working knowledge of:
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript
• Working knowledge of PHP, particularly as it relates to WordPress customization and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of responsive web development and mobile-first considerations.

Quality Assurance

• Experience testing websites across browsers and devices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve visual and functional issues.
• Understanding of website performance and basic accessibility standards.

Communication

• B2+ English proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with an international, distributed team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in an asynchronous environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

These skills are valuable but not required:

• Experience with LESS or another CSS preprocessor such as Sass.
• Experience with additional WordPress builders such as:
  • WPBakery
  • DMS
  • Cornerstone
• Experience with GoHighLevel.
• Ability to make design decisions and improve the visual appearance of websites without a dedicated designer.
• Experience working from Figma and Photoshop files.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Familiarity with SEO principles and on-page optimization.
• Experience with WordPress performance optimization plugins.
• Experience creating reusable WordPress components, templates, or custom modules.
• Familiarity with web accessibility and security best practices.
