AI Engineer
Our client is a Switzerland-based consulting company that helps businesses make better growth decisions. Its team builds business concepts and forecasts of how changes in the market or in operations will affect a company, and delivers this work through its own software products.
The client is now consolidating four existing products into a single product suite built natively on AWS. Engineering is AI-first and spec-driven: specifications are committed to a requirements repository, and code is generated with Claude Code as much as possible, then reviewed, tested and released through a CI/CD pipeline. The platform is designed to be portable to Azure and deployable into a customer’s own cloud environment. The core team is small, with plans to scale as the product and client base grow.
Location: Remote, EU or Ukraine (working hours overlapping with CET)
Engagement: Full-time, long-term
Start: December 2026 (handover from the current interim engineering manager)
English: C1 or higher
Description
You will be the core hands-on engineer of the new product suite. The client needs someone who really understands how large language models behave and knows how to run AI workloads properly on AWS, from agents and retrieval to infrastructure, security and cost.
Responsibilities
- Build and run AI features on AWS Bedrock and AgentCore: agents, tool use, retrieval (RAG), prompts and model selection.
- Develop backend services in Python and Node.js, and frontend features in React where needed.
- Define and maintain infrastructure in Terraform, so the platform can be deployed into a customer’s own cloud environment.
- Integrate platform services such as Cognito for authentication and SES for email.
- Move functionality from four existing products into the unified product suite.
- Work spec-driven: turn specifications into code with Claude Code, then review, harden and test the generated code.
- Measure and improve model quality, latency and cost; add monitoring, logging and guardrails.
- Keep the platform portable to Azure.
- Work within the client’s security policies (ISO/IEC 27001) and handle data in line with Swiss FADP / GDPR.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software engineering.
- Strong Python and solid Node.js / TypeScript.
- Production experience with LLM applications, preferably on AWS Bedrock: agents, tool use, RAG and vector databases.
- Good understanding of how models work in practice: context, evaluation, failure modes, latency and cost.
- Hands-on AWS (serverless and/or containers, IAM, networking) and Terraform.
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions or similar.
- Working knowledge of React.
- Daily use of Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.
- English: Upper-Intermediate or avove
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Bedrock AgentCore.
- Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry).
- Data pipelines, analytics or forecasting products.
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
