Automation QA Engineer

We are looking for a Middle/Senior Software Engineer in Test to take full ownership of quality across the product lifecycle. In this role, quality is woven into how we plan, build, and release, not just a checkpoint at the end. You will partner early with product and engineering teams, embed shift-left practices, build scalable automation using Playwright, and leverage modern AI tools to accelerate quality engineering workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Embed across squads to define acceptance criteria, surface risks early, coach peers, and champion shift-left quality practices across the organization
• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end UI automation suites using Playwright (TypeScript)
• Automate and execute API testing for REST and GraphQL services
• Maintain and extend test automation frameworks (reusable utilities, fixtures, page objects in TypeScript/Python)
• Code-review developer work (Node.js/TypeScript/Python) to spot risks and expand unit/integration coverage
• Use AI coding assistants as part of the daily automation workflow — generating and extending Playwright specs, test cases, and utilities — while reviewing output critically before merging
• Automate the testing process itself: leverage AI for test case generation from tickets, failure triage, log/error analysis, and reducing repetitive manual QE effort
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and coordinate release readiness
• Own release quality, conduct exploratory testing, and triage/document defects with root cause analysis for long-term fixes
• Continuously evolve test strategy across exploratory testing, performance smoke checks, and accessibility validation

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with a strong understanding of SDLC and the testing pyramid
• Hands-on expertise with Playwright (TypeScript) for UI automation
• Solid experience with API & GraphQL testing (Postman, Newman, Playwright API, code-driven approaches)
• Code literacy in Node.js / TypeScript and scripting skills in Python
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) within a production codebase
• Practical experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure) and modern release processes (feature flags, canary deployments)
• Excellent written and verbal English with strong cross-functional communication and mentoring skills
• Location: Europe and countries in the surrounding region

Nice to Have:

• Experience building AI directly into the testing process: agentic testing patterns, LLM-based validation, MCP-driven browser automation, or AI-assisted defect triage
• Experience with hospitality, travel, or subscription platforms
• Performance testing exposure (k6, JMeter, Artillery), accessibility (axe-core, WCAG), or basic security testing
• Observability tooling experience (Datadog, Grafana, New Relic)
