About the role
Our client is building a modern software platform focused on secure data management, workflow automation, and scalable cloud infrastructure. The engineering team develops backend systems that process large volumes of data, integrate with third-party services, and provide reliable APIs for web applications and internal platforms.
This is an opportunity to work on complex backend architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications in a remote-first engineering environment. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to design and deliver secure, maintainable backend services.

Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services using Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Develop scalable REST APIs and server-side application logic.
- Design and optimize MongoDB schemas, indexes, and data access patterns.
- Build secure authentication, authorization, validation, and audit logging mechanisms.
- Integrate third-party APIs, authentication providers, notification services, and external platforms.
- Develop background jobs, queues, caching strategies, and asynchronous workflows.
- Improve application performance, monitoring, reliability, and production observability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure backend solutions.
Required skills
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js server-side development.
- Solid experience designing and maintaining production MongoDB databases.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, authorization, and application security.
- Experience designing scalable backend systems from architecture through production deployment.
- Good understanding of asynchronous processing, background jobs, and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Professional level of spoken and written English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Redis, caching, queues, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating OAuth providers and third-party APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Vercel, or similar environments.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and production troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
