Backend Engineer

Media Miami is an independent performance marketing agency focused on building and scaling digital products. Our core expertise lies in developing and growing media ecosystems for global audiences, with a strong focus on the U.S. market. As our projects gain traction, we partner with brands and service providers, integrating advertising solutions into our platforms and amplifying them through targeted email and SMS campaigns.
We work across four content pillars — Finance, Health, Manifestation and Astrology — combining creativity, analytics and performance marketing to build products that deliver measurable results. 60+ people work on the project.
As a Senior Python Engineer, you’ll own the AI and automation layer of our internal platform — real production systems, not demos. A lot of operational work is still done by hand: data copied between platforms, moved into spreadsheets, pushed into a third system. Your job is to make it flow automatically, and reliably enough that people actually trust it. You will work closely with two engineers in a team of three (growing to five) and report to the technical Product Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build internal automation tools that replace manual operational work end to end
- Integrate platforms with each other — via API where available, and via browser automation where it isn’t
- Develop AI-driven content generation and management workflows at production scale
- Build agent systems coordinating multi-step operational tasks: content, QA, validation, reporting
- Design prompt architectures for reliability, cost control and measurable output quality
- Set up evaluation and regression testing for LLM systems
- Implement and maintain Python backend services
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial development experience, 4+ years of production Python
- Clean, maintainable Python — you don’t rely on frameworks to do your thinking
- Hands-on with the core stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker
- Working understanding of how LLMs operate; you’ve called an LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic or similar) from code at least once
- You know the base terms — tokens, context window, function calling, RAG — and can explain each in one line
- Experience in small teams or startup-style environments, where priorities shift and scope changes mid-development
- You can take a vague task, break it down yourself and start building without waiting for a spec
- B2+ English (C1 preferred) — you’ll read specs, write tasks and join retros in English every day
Nice to have:
- LangGraph, LangChain or MCP — even from a small side project
- Hands-on agent work
- Playwright or other browser automation / web scraping experience
- Vector databases, proxy infrastructure
