Backend Engineer

We are looking for a strong Backend Engineer to join a distributed engineering team responsible for building and maintaining a large-scale cloud-native platform running in Kubernetes environments.

The system consists of multiple backend services written in Java (spanning both legacy and modern versions), deployed in containerized environments and orchestrated using Kubernetes and Helm. The platform operates in a production-critical environment, requiring strong focus on reliability, observability, and incident troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve backend services written in Java (Java 8–21)
• Support and troubleshoot distributed applications running in Kubernetes clusters
• Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to identify and resolve production issues
• Design and manage deployments using Helm charts
• Collaborate on infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible
• Develop Python scripts for operational automation and internal tooling
• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience in Core Java development (Java 8+), including modern Java (17/21)
• Experience with Spring Boot and/or lightweight Java services
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments
• Experience with Helm for deployment packaging and configuration
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with observability stacks (ELK/OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems
• Basic to intermediate Python for scripting and automation

Nice to have

• Experience in high-load or mission-critical systems
• SRE or platform engineering background
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
