Backend Engineer

IT Craft is looking for a Senior Python Developer to build and enhance applications used in trading operations. This role combines backend engineering with practical knowledge of trading systems. You will work on integrations, operational controls, and new capabilities for a production platform.

Responsibilities:

• Build and improve Python and Java services used by a trading platform;
• Create interfaces that connect the platform with other business and oversight tools;
• Develop automated data flows, transaction verification, risk-related calculations, and system health checks;
• Help new users get started by setting up permissions and preparing the platform for their work;
• Expand the platform’s capabilities for algorithm-driven trading;
• Deploy and connect application components within the Microsoft Azure environment;
• Work with trading specialists, product stakeholders, architects, and developers to deliver new features;

• Maintain code quality through testing, peer reviews, and documentation.

   

Requirements:

• Strong professional background in Python backend development and experience with live, business-critical systems;
• Practical experience with trading platforms, automated trading, or trading strategies;
• Understanding of energy markets, financial markets, or similar trading environments;
• Experience designing APIs and working with databases and distributed applications;
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure and container-based deployments;
• Experience with Java and ReactJS;
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Redis;
• Ability to turn complex trading needs into working software;
• Good written and spoken English.
