The team builds and maintains core platform services: player wallets and balances, transaction processing, deposits and withdrawals, deposit and spending limits, player accounts and profiles, authentication, and KYC (identity verification). These services are business-critical. Every bet, payment, and bonus on the platform depends on them, so correctness, consistency, and reliability matter a lot.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial experience with Java.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and the modern Java ecosystem.
- Experience developing and supporting microservice architectures.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred), transactions, locking, and data modeling.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and high-load applications.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
- Experience with transactional systems where data consistency is critical.
- Understanding of software architecture patterns and system design.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
- Experience with containerized applications and cloud environments.
- Ownership mindset and the ability to take tasks from requirements to production.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for billing: wallets, balances, transaction processing, deposits, withdrawals, corrections, and player limits.
- Build and evolve user management features: registration, player accounts and profiles, authentication, account statuses, and restrictions.
- Develop KYC flows: document verification, integrations with KYC providers, verification statuses, and compliance checks.
- Keep financial operations consistent and correct, including idempotency, concurrency control, and auditability.
- Integrate with internal platform services (casino, sportsbook, bonus, payments) and third-party providers.
- Take part in architecture discussions and technical decisions.
- Keep services reliable, fast, and scalable under high load.
- Write clean, well-tested code and take part in code reviews.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Architects, and DevOps.
- Take part in planning and estimation.
- Share knowledge with and support other engineers on the team.
- Support incident investigation, troubleshooting, and production stability.
Nice to have:
- Experience in iGaming, Casino, Sportsbook, Gambling, or FinTech.
- Hands-on experience with billing, wallet, ledger, or payment systems.
- Experience with double-entry accounting or financial reconciliation.
- Experience with user management, identity, or authentication systems (OAuth2, JWT, Keycloak, or similar).
- Experience integrating with KYC/AML providers (for example Sumsub, Onfido, Jumio, or similar).
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements: KYC, AML, GDPR, and responsible gaming.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
- Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Practical experience using AI tools to make software development more productive.
- Experience with AI-assisted development, including AI agents, code generation, automated testing, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Specification-Driven Development (SDD) or similar approaches, where structured specifications and automation drive requirements, architecture, and implementation.
The Interview Process:
- 30 minute Recruiter call.
- 60 minute call with Architect.

- Hard technical problems in high-load distributed systems where correctness matters.

- Professional growth opportunities.
