Lead Blockchain Developer
Remote
We are looking for a Lead Blockchain Developer to join a newly forming team and take ownership of building the blockchain component of a project focused on settlement, traceability, and interoperability.
This is an opportunity to join the project at an early stage, shape the blockchain architecture, establish development processes
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of the blockchain component in collaboration with the Solution Architect and Business Analyst
- Build smart contracts for core settlement and traceability protocols
- Develop the orchestration layer, DvP settlement module, contract version registry, and emergency suspension and rollback tooling
- Establish effective development processes, code review practices, and engineering quality standards for the team
- Act as a bridge between product stakeholders and developers, helping the Business Analyst refine requirements and understand technical capabilities, limitations, and trade-offs
- Coordinate with backend and other engineering teams to define integration contracts, interfaces, and responsibilities
- Communicate technical decisions, manage dependencies, and proactively identify integration risks
- Conduct product demos and communicate delivered value in terms of business outcomes rather than completed tasks
- Maintain a security-first approach and prepare solutions for an independent audit
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Solidity and/or Rust
- Experience with EVM and/or permissioned DLT
- Experience with Hyperledger Fabric, Besu, or Corda
- Experience with Hardhat or Foundry
- Experience with Slither, Mythril, or Certora
- Understanding of DvP and HTLC settlement patterns
- Experience leading developers, conducting code reviews, and establishing development standards
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience coordinating integrations across engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to demonstrate product value to different audiences
- Practical experience using AI tools for smart contract development and review
- Strong security mindset and ability to reason formally about settlement finality
- Upper-Intermediate English or higher
Nice to Have
- ISO 20022 experience, particularly in interoperability-related work
