About the Role
We are looking for two experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrators to support and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments. The role focuses on production database operations, incident management, backup and recovery, patching, and troubleshooting.
The specialists will work together to ensure reliable database operations and provide on-call support for critical production incidents.
Responsibilities
- Provide L3 support for Oracle database environments and troubleshoot complex production incidents.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding to critical Priority 1 incidents within 20 minutes.
- Perform database administration, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Manage RMAN backup and recovery procedures and conduct regular backup/restore tests.
- Perform Oracle database patching and routine maintenance.
- Support high-availability configurations, including standby databases.
- Monitor database health and availability using Zabbix and custom scripts.
- Automate routine administration tasks using Bash and/or Perl.
- Investigate database issues and work with Oracle Support to resolve complex problems.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database 19c.
- Experience with Oracle Standard Edition 2 (SE2) is highly desirable.
- Solid experience supporting production databases and handling critical incidents.
- Practical knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery.
- Experience with Oracle database patching and maintenance.
- Good Linux administration skills, preferably RHEL 7/8.
- Scripting experience with Bash and/or Perl.
- Experience with database monitoring tools, preferably Zabbix.
- Understanding of standby database architectures and high-availability solutions.
- Experience with Dbvisit Standby or similar technologies is a plus.
- Experience working with Oracle Support and managing Service Requests (SRs).
- Willingness and availability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work independently, follow operational procedures, and document technical activities.
