Testomat.io is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us maintain and scale the infrastructure behind our growing B2B SaaS product.

Testomat.io is a modern test management platform for QA engineers, developers, and software development teams. It helps teams manage manual and automated testing, analytics, reporting, and integrations with the tools they use every day.

The product has been on the market for over 5 years and is used by customers worldwide. We are a small product team of around 30–40 people, working fully remotely.

What you’ll be doing

This is a hands-on role focused on production infrastructure, monitoring, database performance, reliability, and scalability.

You’ll work closely with the engineering team and deal with real production challenges as the product grows in traffic, data volume, and complexity.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • setting up and maintaining server and service monitoring;
  • monitoring application health and production infrastructure;
  • handling incidents and troubleshooting production issues;
  • maintaining and optimizing MariaDB / MySQL databases;
  • investigating database locks, deadlocks, slow queries, and other performance bottlenecks;
  • improving application reliability, performance, and scalability;
  • participating in scaling the platform toward a multi-tenant architecture;
  • designing and supporting database sharding strategies;
  • supporting clients with infrastructure-related issues;
  • working closely with developers on infrastructure, performance, and reliability improvements.

Tech stack

  • Ruby on Rails monolith
  • MariaDB / MySQL
  • ClickHouse
  • Redis / Dragonfly
  • Meilisearch
  • Sidekiq
  • Kamal
  • GitHub Actions
  • AppSignal
  • Prometheus / Grafana
  • Hetzner — VPS & Dedicated Servers
  • Cloudflare

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on experience with production infrastructure and monitoring;
  • solid experience maintaining and optimizing MariaDB / MySQL;
  • experience investigating and resolving database locks, deadlocks, slow queries, and performance issues;
  • good understanding of application and database scaling approaches;
  • experience with Linux-based server environments;
  • familiarity with CI/CD pipelines;
  • ability to troubleshoot production issues independently;
  • strong ownership and problem-solving skills;
  • attention to detail when working with production systems.

A strong plus

  • Experience with ClickHouse;
  • experience with Redis or Dragonfly;
  • experience with database sharding;
  • hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana;
  • knowledge of Ruby or Ruby on Rails internals;
  • experience with SaaS products;
  • experience working with multi-tenant architectures.

Ruby knowledge is not required, but the ability to read and understand a Rails application would be useful.

How we work

Testomat.io is a relatively small product team, so there is no complicated corporate hierarchy or long chain of approvals.

We offer:

  • 100% remote work;
  • a flexible schedule;
  • no time trackers;
  • no micromanagement — we focus on results and ownership;
  • direct communication with the engineering and product team;
  • a high level of autonomy and technical ownership;
  • an opportunity to directly influence product stability, performance, and scalability;
  • work on a real SaaS product with growing traffic and data volumes;
  • an opportunity to grow toward a Senior / Lead Infrastructure role.

Hiring process

We try to keep the process straightforward and transparent:

Test task → Recruiter intro → Technical interview → meeting with the Founder/CEO → final decision.

If you enjoy solving real production problems, working deeply with databases and monitoring, and owning infrastructure reliability and scalability, we’d be happy to meet you.

When applying, please include:

  • your up-to-date CV;
  • your English level;
  • your salary expectations in USD/hour gross;
  • your current location.

Please include your salary expectations in your application so we can confirm early whether we are aligned on compensation.

If this sounds like a role you’d enjoy, we’d be happy to hear from you and hopefully welcome you to the Testomat.io team.
