Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a greenfield project for a growing OTA (Online Travel Agency) that is evolving into a multi-brand Merchant-of-Record platform.

The platform will integrate with major hotel suppliers, including Expedia Group Rapid and Priceline Partner Solutions, and will support the full hotel booking journey from search to checkout.

We also follow an AI-first engineering approach, so the ability to effectively use modern AI tools in daily DevOps work — for research, troubleshooting, infrastructure/code generation, documentation, and automation — is expected.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the GCP cloud foundation and landing zone using Terraform.
• Provision and configure GCP services including GKE, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, Memorystore for Valkey, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Storage.
• Design and implement standardized GitLab CI/CD pipelines for a multi-service monorepo.
• Create reusable GitLab CI templates and implement selective builds for individual services.
• Set up and maintain dev → stage → production deployment and promotion flows.
• Implement Argo CD and Argo Rollouts and define their integration with the GitLab CI pipeline.
• Configure and manage Kubernetes infrastructure, including ingress, node pools/Autopilot ComputeClasses, and Workload Identity Federation.
• Set up NGINX Ingress and support Kubernetes cluster operations.
• Implement the OpenTelemetry → Elastic APM observability pipeline.
• Configure SonarQube quality gates, security/dependency scanning, and related CI/CD integrations.
• Support Docker-in-Docker runners for integration testing.
• Deploy and support application workloads based on .NET 10 / ASP.NET Core microservices.
• Use AI-powered development and DevOps tools to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, investigate issues, generate and review infrastructure/configuration code, and accelerate technical research.
• Participate in technical discussions and help finalize open platform decisions, including messaging strategy, SonarQube edition, GitLab licensing, and infrastructure sizing based on load testing.
• Establish DevOps best practices and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and maintainable from the beginning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Practical experience with:

  • Cloud SQL
  • Memorystore
  • Pub/Sub
  • Secret Manager
  • Artifact Registry
  • Cloud Storage
• Strong Terraform experience and hands-on Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines, preferably for multi-service or monorepo-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and operations.
• Experience with Argo CD and Argo Rollouts / GitOps.
• Experience implementing and supporting observability solutions, particularly OpenTelemetry and Elastic APM.
• Experience with SonarQube, quality gates, and security/dependency scanning.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment strategies, infrastructure security, and cloud networking.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in software engineering or DevOps workflows, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
• Understanding of how to use AI tools effectively for code/configuration generation and review, troubleshooting, documentation, automation, and technical research.
• Experience working with greenfield projects and building DevOps infrastructure from scratch.
• Ability to independently investigate technical issues, make infrastructure decisions, and communicate technical trade-offs.
• Good spoken and written English.

Would Be a Plus

• Previous hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Keycloak or other self-hosted IAM solutions.
• Experience deploying and operating .NET / ASP.NET Core microservices in Kubernetes.
• Experience with Argo Rollouts and progressive delivery strategies.
• Experience with performance/load testing and infrastructure sizing.
• Experience in the travel, OTA, e-commerce, or payments domain.
• Experience building AI-assisted automation or DevOps workflows.
• Experience creating custom prompts, agents, or workflows to automate DevOps activities.
