Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery against agreed priorities and roadmap.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and provide ongoing feedback and development support to engineers.
• Manage and continuously update the engineering hiring plan.
• Establish engineering capacity planning and resource allocation processes.
• Improve engineering documentation, knowledge sharing, and onboarding.
• Develop and implement standards around code reviews, documentation, testing, integrations, and prototyping.
• Act as the primary engineering point of contact between the UA and US teams.
• Proactively identify and resolve organizational and cross-team issues affecting engineering execution.
• Provide regular reporting on engineering projects and team performance to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of the product and integration portfolio for the Ukrainian market.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the day-to-day execution of the Ukraine engineering team, including planning, prioritization, execution and delivery.
• Build a strong understanding of the product portfolio, roadmap, FPV/UAV market, and battlefield use cases, contribute to the future product roadmap.
• Work closely with US engineering teams to align technical priorities, processes, and ways of working.
• Own engineering resource and team capacity planning.
• Drive engineering projects from initial requests and ideas through technical definition, prototyping, and development.
• Establish clear visibility into engineering progress, risks, priorities, and delivery for key stakeholders.
• Support the growth of the engineering organization through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management.

You Should Have the Following

• 5+ years of experience in software, embedded, robotics, or a related engineering environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams as an Engineering Team Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar role.
• Experience in system design (embedded systems, distributed systems, hardware—software integration)
• Strong understanding of software/engineering development processes and project delivery.
• Experience with team planning, prioritization, capacity management, and resource allocation.
• Experience hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with distributed or cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• English proficiency at B2+ level.

Nice to Have

• Experience with UAVs, FPV systems, robotics, or hardware-integrated products.
• Previous experience in miltech or defense technology.
• Technical background in embedded systems, firmware, or hardware-software integration.
• Experience building or scaling engineering teams and processes in an early-stage or rapidly growing company.
