About the Company Our client is a global quantum technologies company on a mission to transform the world's networks for the quantum revolution. Built on technology from a leading Singapore research centre, they provide specialized quantum-security solutions to organizations concerned about the security of their communications networks and infrastructure. Their core expertise is using a space-based quantum platform to establish long-distance quantum networks with global reach.

The Role We're looking for highly motivated FPGA engineers to join a team of space quantum pioneers in Singapore. The company is commercializing quantum communications to prepare the world for the quantum future. Think quantum space lasers, entanglement and military-grade secure communications. As part of this mission, they plan to launch a constellation of satellites to enable worldwide entanglement distribution. The earliest application is highly secure delivery of encryption keys for secret communications.

You'll work directly with scientists and engineers to overcome the technical challenges of quantum communication in the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Break down requirements in detail, and produce work plans and documentation
  • Design, program and test FPGA-based platforms for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems
  • Collaborate with domain and technology experts on solutions based on state-of-the-art and cutting-edge R&D
  • Prepare user documentation and guides to support the use of QKD hardware
  • Present technical content effectively, both internally and to customers
  • Help create commercial and research proposals that support the company's work and its partners
  • Other related functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering with 5 years of working experience, or master's degree in electronics engineering with 2 years of working experience
  • Exceptional academic achievements and/or demonstrated passion for technology through extra-curricular activities
  • Curiosity about working at the forefront of deep-tech development

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Experience with FPGA hardware and software design (VHDL/Verilog), e.g. FPGA time taggers
  • Experience implementing electronics interfaces (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Experience designing and testing PCB boards, including high-speed signal considerations
  • Strong documentation and quality-control discipline

Bonus Skills (experience in any of these is an advantage)

  • Quantum communication
  • Analogue electronics
  • Telecommunications
  • Time stamping or TDC
  • LIDAR
  • Space electronics
