Machine Learning Engineer
SciForce is looking for an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to strengthen our ML experts team.
You will be part of a cross-functional team working on product innovations and new technologies across NLP, speech processing, computer vision, anomaly detection and prediction, and data science.
You will have the opportunity to work with modern ML and LLM technologies, solve complex analytical problems, experiment with new approaches, and contribute to technical and product decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement ML models and solutions for complex use cases.
- Take ownership of ML-related tasks and drive them from idea and research to implementation and delivery.
- Analyze complex datasets and business problems, identify suitable ML approaches, and propose effective solutions.
- Develop and improve machine learning pipelines and proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Work with NLP, LLMs, data science, complex data analysis, and related ML use cases.
- Participate in defining the technical direction of ML solutions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Identify potential technical risks and proactively suggest improvements or alternative approaches.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of commercial experience in Machine Learning / Data Science.
- Strong expertise in Python and its data science ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar deep learning frameworks.
- Strong technical background in data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
- Strong experience in NLP, data science, and complex data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and modern language model architectures.
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning and adapting small/medium language models (roughly 1B—8B parameters), including parameter-efficient fine-tuning techniques such as LoRA/QLoRA (PEFT).
- Experience with model evaluation, validation, and performance optimization.
- Proactive and ownership-driven mindset — ability to identify problems, explore possible approaches and independently drive solutions through implementation.
- Research mindset and curiosity about new ML methodologies and technologies.
- Good technical written and spoken English.
