We are looking for a talented Middle QA Engineer with a strong manual/web testing background to join a Fertility & Women’s Health project team.
This is not a purely execution-focused QA role — we need someone proactive, communicative, and comfortable taking full ownership without a dedicated PM on the ground. The founder is very hands-on and brings a lot of ideas to weekly calls; the QA needs to be confident enough to push back constructively when something won’t work well from a UX or product standpoint, not just agree and execute. The atmosphere on this project is friendly and low-pressure — the client is easy to talk to, not the type of client you need to walk on eggshells with.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have:
- Middle-level QA experience (2+ years), primarily manual/web testing
- Good English (B2+) — must be comfortable communicating directly with the client
- Strong communication skills and confidence participating in discussions
- Proactive, self-sufficient mindset — able to work independently without close day-to-day oversight, identify gaps, risks, and unclear requirements, and raise them without waiting for instructions
- Ability to understand the bigger product picture and suggest improvements or alternative approaches
- Comfortable discussing and constructively challenging client ideas when something may not work well from a UX/product perspective
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow overall project progress
- Ability to provide lightweight team coordination: following up on blockers, dependencies, developer progress, and releases
- Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to help write test cases and prompts (no deep AI expertise required)
Nice to have:
- Previous Healthcare / HealthTech project experience
- Understanding of EHR/EMR systems, patient/provider workflows, HIPAA, or healthcare integrations
- Familiarity with MedPlum or other FHIR-based/open-source EHR platforms
- Experience working in a small team with significant ownership and direct client communication
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own QA on the project end-to-end, working closely with the developer and the client directly, as there is no dedicated Project Manager or QA lead on the ground
- Actively participate in client calls, ask clarifying questions, and flag risks or UX concerns early rather than silently agreeing
- Dive deep into the existing product flow and well-documented Jira tickets/requirements to build strong domain understanding
- Help maintain coordination around blockers, dependencies, and releases as the team transitions ownership from the current setup
