Mobile Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Software Engineer to join a distributed engineering team working on the development and modernization of high-traffic consumer mobile applications.

The role combines hands-on mobile development, end-to-end feature ownership, modern mobile architecture, and AI-assisted software development. You will work closely with product designers, backend engineers, and other engineering teams across the US, China, and Latin America.

The product operates in the e-commerce / retail domain, with a strong focus on customer-facing mobile experiences, product catalogs, scalability, performance, and reliable releases.
 

Important: The role requires availability to work in the Pacific Time Zone (PT) and collaborate closely with US-based teams.
 

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and release production mobile application features.
• Own features end-to-end — from technical design and implementation through testing and App Store / Google Play release.
• Participate in mobile modernization and re-architecture initiatives.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance mobile solutions.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product designers, and other engineering teams.
• Contribute to shared mobile components, libraries, tooling, and engineering standards.
• Apply modern mobile architecture and software design principles.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the daily engineering workflow for coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and productivity improvement.
• Contribute across different layers of the technology stack when required.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
   

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile application development.
• Strong commercial experience with Swift/iOS and/or Kotlin/Android.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining production mobile applications.
• Experience taking mobile features from initial design through production release.
• Practical experience publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and/or Google Play.
• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture patterns, including MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD, automated testing, release engineering, and production support.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and maintainable application architecture.
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for delivery.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with distributed and cross-functional engineering teams.

AI-Driven Development — Required

Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools in the delivery of production software.
 

We are looking for engineers who use AI tooling as part of their daily development workflow, rather than candidates with only theoretical knowledge or occasional exposure.

Experience may include using AI for:

• Production code development
• Unit and automated test generation
• Debugging and troubleshooting
• Refactoring
• Code review and analysis
• Documentation
• Developer productivity and workflow automation

Full-Stack Awareness

While this is primarily a mobile engineering role, we are looking for engineers who are comfortable working beyond a single application layer.
 

Experience or familiarity with technologies such as .NET/C#, Go, Python, Java, React, MS SQL Server, Azure, or AWS is valuable.

Deep expertise across all of these technologies is not required. However, candidates should be comfortable understanding backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, and integrations when delivering end-to-end product features.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Experience with mobile modernization or large-scale application re-architecture.
• Experience building shared mobile component libraries or internal developer tooling.
• Experience with high-scale mobile CI/CD and release automation.
• Experience working across both iOS and Android ecosystems.

Domain Experience

Experience with e-commerce platforms, retail applications, product catalogs, marketplaces, or other high-traffic consumer applications is highly desirable.

Collaboration & Working Hours

The engineering organization is distributed across the United States, China, and Latin America, so experience working effectively within international and geographically distributed teams is important.

The position requires the ability to work in the Pacific Time Zone (PT) and maintain sufficient overlap with US-based engineering and product teams.
