We are looking for a hands-on QA Engineer to support quality across our project, which includes Linux-based systems, web applications, and embedded devices.

You will combine structured manual testing with scripting and test automation. The role includes creating test plans, investigating defects, writing automated checks and utility scripts, and working closely with developers throughout the release process. You do not need to be an expert in every part of the technology stack, but you should be comfortable learning new systems and using automation to make testing more reliable and efficient.

Responsibilities:

Manual Testing

  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
  • Perform hands-on testing of web applications, Linux-based systems, and connected or embedded devices
  • Explore edge cases, usability issues, browser compatibility, and common failure scenarios
  • Clearly document, triage, and track defects
  • Work with developers to reproduce issues, verify fixes, and improve testability
  • Help investigate production and field issues using logs and other available diagnostic information
  • Participate in on-device and hardware-assisted testing where required

Scripting and Automation

  • Build and maintain automated tests for APIs, user interfaces, system workflows, and regression scenarios
  • Write practical test scripts and utilities using Python, Bash, or a similar language
  • Integrate automated checks into CI/CD pipelines
  • Review test results, investigate failures, and improve the reliability of automated suites
  • Identify repetitive manual checks that are good candidates for automation
  • Gradually expand automated coverage while retaining exploratory and risk-based manual testing
  • Assist with basic performance and load testing when needed

Quality Process

  • Maintain test documentation, test cases, known issues, and coverage information
  • Provide QA input during planning, development, and release-readiness discussions
  • Communicate quality risks and test results clearly to developers and product stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers to introduce testing earlier in the development process
  • Help improve team testing practices and tools
  • Support other QA team members with test design and automation when needed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of practical experience in software QA Automation(UI and API)
  • Strong manual testing fundamentals, including test-case design, exploratory testing, regression testing, and clear defect reporting
  • Experience testing at least one of the following:
    • Web applications and REST APIs
    • Linux-based applications or systems
    • Embedded, IoT, or connected devices
  • Ability to write and maintain scripts in Python, Bash, JavaScript, or a similar language
  • Some hands-on experience with a test automation tool or framework, such as pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
  • Familiarity with Git and standard development workflows, including branches, pull requests, and code reviews
  • Basic experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • Comfortable working with logs, command-line tools, browser developer tools, and API-testing tools
  • Experience using a defect-tracking or test-management system such as Jira, TestRail, Xray, or a similar tool
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with developers and product stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar systems, tools, and hardware

Nice to Have

  • Strong Python or Bash scripting skills for test tooling and automation
  • Experience testing across more than one of the following areas: web, Linux, embedded, or IoT
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes in test and staging environments
  • Familiarity with Linux troubleshooting tools such as journalctl, strace, and system logs
  • Basic security-testing or fuzzing experience
  • Experience working in regulated or safety-sensitive industries
