QA Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality of a web-based business platform that processes data from multiple sources and provides dashboards and AI-assisted features.

We’re open to Middle-level candidates and strong Junior candidates who can demonstrate relevant hands-on QA skills.

Responsibilities

• Test complete user journeys, from uploading source files to reviewing dashboards and using AI-assisted features.
• Validate processed data against source files, including rows, columns, values, dates, units, and totals.
• Test duplicate uploads, overlapping reports, missing data, unsupported formats, and incomplete reporting periods.
• Verify dashboard calculations, filters, comparisons, exports, and consistency across the platform.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for factual accuracy, grounding in authorized data, consistency with the selected business context, and appropriate handling of uncertainty.
• Test frontend behavior, backend APIs, integrations, authentication, and user permissions.
• Verify data isolation between customer accounts and appropriate access within each account.
• Design and maintain automated tests for critical workflows and regression risks.
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, severity, and supporting evidence.
• Work with developers to investigate root causes and independently verify fixes.
• Report test coverage, unresolved issues, and release risks.
• Use controlled test environments and appropriate test data to protect original files and customer information.

Required skills and experience

• Practical experience in QA for web applications.
• Knowledge of exploratory, functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience testing APIs using Postman or automated test code.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Confidence working with Excel, CSV, and other structured data files, including reconciling calculations with source data.
• Ability to write or maintain test code in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Familiarity with Git, issue tracking, and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to distinguish interface defects, data quality problems, calculation errors, and integration failures.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear written communication.
• Ability to prioritize testing based on business impact and investigate issues independently.
• Upper-Intermediate English.

Strong Junior candidates are welcome if they have practical experience in web QA and can demonstrate a solid understanding of the skills above.

Preferred experience

Experience testing analytics platforms, business intelligence tools, dashboards, or data ingestion pipelines; AI assistants or other systems with variable responses; business metrics and reporting periods; CI pipelines, Docker, or cloud-hosted applications. Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS applications is a plus. Experience with domain-specific business data is helpful but not required.
