QA Team Lead

About the project
A connected beauty ecosystem consisting of a smart mirror running on Android OS (built in Flutter) with camera, speakers, mic, and wi-fi, plus companion iOS & Android apps also built in Flutter. The client is scaling the product across hardware and mobile, and needs a QA Lead to own quality across both the device and the app layer. 

Long term, remote, with overlap on EST business hours.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial QA experience, including a Lead role
• Proven experience setting up QA processes from scratch
• Hands-on manual testing of mobile apps (iOS and Android)
• Experience testing hardware-connected / IoT or smart-device products (camera, audio, wi-fi connectivity, sensors)
• Experience with Flutter-based apps testing specifics
• Experience defining regression strategy across interconnected app + device components
• Confident with test management and bug tracking tools (TestRail, Jira, or similar)
• Strong stakeholder communication with Product and Engineering
• Ability to work with EST time zone overlap
• English: B2+, confident written and spoken

Will be a plus

• Experience with beauty tech, wearables, or consumer smart-device products
• Experience with automated testing basics (to guide future automation roadmap)
• Experience with API testing (Postman)

Responsibilities

• Own QA strategy and roadmap across the smart mirror + mobile app ecosystem
• Hands-on manual testing of Android-based smart mirror device and iOS/Android apps
• Define and execute regression strategy across device + app components
• Set up QA processes, standards, and release sign-off criteria from scratch
• Test hardware-software integration points (camera, mic, speakers, wi-fi connectivity)
• Coordinate releases and act as the QA point of contact for the client
• Report on QA status and release readiness
