About Logivations

Logivations is an international technology company headquartered in Munich, Germany, with a long-established team in Lviv.

We develop W2MO, a leading Digital Twin platform for planning and optimizing warehouse, production and supply chain processes. Our technology is used by more than 30,000 professional users worldwide.

Our software landscape includes:

· Digital Twin planning and optimization systems

· Real-Time Digital Twins connected to operational processes

· computer vision and tracking solutions

· autonomous mobile robots developed together with Pixel Robotics

· databases, services, interfaces and customer-specific installations

We are now working on a major engineering initiative: We want to automate almost all recurring deployment, configuration, update, maintenance and diagnostic processes around these systems.

Our long-term target is 95% automation.

Your Mission

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer with a strong engineering mindset who enjoys turning complex technical processes into reliable software.

Today, some activities around deploying and operating our systems still require manual intervention: installing components, checking configurations, analysing logs, updating databases, validating services or resolving technical problems.

Your task will be to understand these processes and build software that performs them automatically.

This may include:

· command-line tools

· Python or Java services

· deployment tools

· APIs

· diagnostic utilities

· automated tests and health checks

· configuration management

· monitoring and recovery mechanisms

Where useful, we will also integrate modern AI technologies to analyse technical information, access documentation and assist with diagnosing or resolving unusual situations.

But the foundation of this position is software engineering and automation.

The Engineering Challenge

Automating the normal case is usually straightforward. Building automation that remains reliable when systems are not in the expected state is much more interesting.

For example:

· a service does not start

· a configuration contains an invalid value

· a database migration fails

· two software components use incompatible versions

· a network dependency is unavailable

· a customer installation differs from the expected setup

· an update succeeds partially but leaves one component in an inconsistent state

A robust automation system must detect these situations, collect the relevant information, identify what went wrong and determine the appropriate next step.

Sometimes the solution will be deterministic software logic. Sometimes the system will consult documentation or previous incidents. And in some situations, an AI model may help interpret logs, documentation or unfamiliar system states.

The engineering challenge is to combine these approaches into a system that is reliable, understandable, testable and safe to operate.

What You Will Work On

You will help automate processes such as:

· installation and deployment of software components

· software updates and version management

· configuration of customer systems

· pre-deployment and post-deployment validation

· database setup and migrations

· starting, stopping and checking services

· configuration validation

· log collection and analysis

· system health checks

· automated diagnostics

· error detection and recovery

· backup and recovery procedures

· automated testing after updates

· documentation and reporting of deployments

· identification and elimination of recurring manual processes

A typical project might start with an engineer explaining a manual deployment or troubleshooting procedure. You would then:

1. understand the technical process

2. identify inputs, dependencies and failure cases

3. define how the process can be automated

4. implement the necessary software

5. test it against normal and abnormal situations

6. improve it until human intervention is rarely required

What We Are Looking For

This position is well suited for a Junior Developer, but we are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation.

You should have:

· practical programming experience in Python, Java or a comparable language

· good understanding of software engineering fundamentals

· confidence working with existing code and unfamiliar systems

· understanding of data structures, APIs and basic software architecture

· experience using Git

· ability to analyse technical problems systematically

· interest in automation and systems engineering

· willingness to understand how software behaves outside the development environment

· good written and spoken English

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a comparable technical field is an advantage. Equivalent practical engineering experience is equally welcome.

We value good engineering judgement more than knowledge of a specific technology stack.

Particularly Important to Us

We are looking for someone who does not stop at: “It works on my machine.”

You should be interested in questions such as:

· What happens when an operation fails halfway through?

· Can the process safely be executed twice?

· How do we know whether the system is in the expected state?

· How can we detect an incorrect configuration before it causes a problem?

· What information do we need to diagnose a failure?

· Can the system recover automatically?

· How do we make the automation maintainable for other engineers?

This way of thinking is more important to us than already knowing every infrastructure technology we use.

Technical Knowledge That Is Helpful

Experience with some of the following is useful, but we do not expect a Junior candidate to know all of them:

· Linux

· Windows services

· Docker

· SQL

· PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server

· REST APIs

· networking fundamentals

· CI/CD

· GitHub

· virtual machines

· PowerShell

· Bash

· monitoring and logging systems

You do not need to be an experienced system administrator or DevOps engineer.

Our team already has extensive knowledge about the systems themselves. Your role is to turn this knowledge into reliable automation.

Where AI Fits In

AI is one of the tools we will use, not the purpose of the position.

Modern language models are particularly useful when automation needs to work with information that is difficult to express as fixed rules. For example, they can help:

  • interpret complex log output
  • search and understand technical documentation
  • classify unfamiliar errors
  • retrieve information about a specific component
  • compare the current system state with documented requirements
  • suggest diagnostic steps
  • identify similar previously solved incidents.

We therefore expect an interest in modern AI tools and the willingness to use them as part of the engineering solution.

Previous experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, agents, RAG or MCP is welcome, but not required. Strong programming and engineering skills are more important.

Who Will Fit This Role Particularly Well?

You may be a very good fit if you are the kind of developer who sees a repetitive technical process and immediately starts thinking about how it could be automated.

You enjoy understanding how systems work. You like debugging. You want to know why something failed instead of simply trying the same command again. You enjoy building tools that other developers can depend on.

And you like the idea that good engineering can eliminate hundreds of hours of repetitive technical work.

What Makes This Position Interesting

This is not a Junior Developer role where you will spend your first year making small changes to an isolated part of an application.

You will work across real software systems involving Digital Twins, Real-Time Digital Twins, databases, computer vision, industrial software and robotics.

You will learn how these systems are deployed and operated and then help redesign these processes through software.

The results of your work will be very tangible. If a deployment that previously required two hours of engineering work can later run automatically in ten minutes, you will see the impact directly.

And with a target of 95% automation, there is a substantial engineering challenge ahead.

What We Offer

· A technically challenging role with substantial responsibility even at Junior level

· Strong focus on practical software engineering

· Work across Digital Twins, Real-Time systems and robotics

· Direct access to experienced developers and technical experts

· The opportunity to understand complete software systems, not only individual application features

· Freedom to propose and implement better technical solutions

· Modern development and automation technologies

· The opportunity to use AI where it genuinely improves engineering processes

· Flexible working hours

· An international environment with teams in Lviv and Munich

· Long-term cooperation

· Attractive compensation appropriate to the position and your skills

· Direct cooperation with Logivations GmbH in Munich, Germany

Cooperation Model

We are looking for a Ukrainian software developer based in or around Lviv.

The cooperation is structured as a long-term B2B relationship with you as a Ukrainian Private Entrepreneur (FOP).

You will contract directly with Logivations GmbH in Germany.

There is no outsourcing or outstaffing company between you and Logivations.

You will work as an integrated member of our international team and cooperate directly with developers, technical experts and management in Ukraine and Germany.

How to Apply

Please send us:

1. Your CV or LinkedIn profile

2. A short description of your programming experience

3. GitHub links, university projects, personal projects or examples of software you have built, if available

4. A few sentences about a technically interesting problem you have solved

5. If you have already used AI for programming or automation, briefly tell us how

We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they like building, debugging and understanding software systems.

You do not need a long formal cover letter and you do not need to meet every technology requirement listed above.

If you have a strong engineering foundation, enjoy programming and want to automate complex real-world software processes, we would like to meet you.
