About the Role

Haiqu builds the software layer between quantum algorithms and quantum hardware. We are looking for a Middle+/Senior Software Engineer with strong Python experience and a generalist mindset to help build the core systems behind our runtime and orchestration.

The role combines Python engineering, compiler infrastructure, systems programming, and scientific computing.

Previous quantum computing experience is not required.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design a Python framework for quantum computing.
  • Developing compiler-style IRs, transformations, and JIT/AOT/native compilation.
  • Exploring ways to lower higher-level programs toward efficient native execution.
  • Integrating new hardware and execution providers.
  • Build runtime system for quantum program executions
  • Owning features end-to-end — from core library changes to backend APIs, database changes, and production integration.
  • Turning research prototypes into reliable production software.
  • Refactoring and improving the architecture of a large Python codebase.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Python plus systems-level programming experience, ideally C++ or Rust.
  • Strong software architecture and engineering fundamentals.
  • Comfortable making backend/API and database changes when needed.
  • Deep understanding of compilers, runtimes, programming languages, or execution engines.
  • Experience with LLVM, MLIR, JIT/AOT compilation, IR design, ASTs, type systems, or code generation.

We are looking for a strong software engineer who can work deeply on compiler and systems problems while also being comfortable going across the stack when that is what it takes to deliver a feature.

Nice to Have

  • Scientific or numerical computing.
  • CUDA or GPU programming.
  • Machine learning.
  • Distributed systems.
  • Quantum computing or Qiskit.
  • Interest in learning quantum computing.

Who Would Be a Good Fit

This role is particularly suitable for a strong Python engineer who also enjoys compiler, runtime, or lower-level systems work.

You do not need to be a quantum computing expert. We care more about strong engineering fundamentals, compiler or systems experience, and the ability to work with complex technical problems.

We are primarily looking for candidates based in Ukraine, with a preference for Lviv.
