Solutions Architect

Solid Software is looking for a self-driven Software Architect to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions across APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and AI services. You’ll bring deep Python expertise and enough frontend knowledge to guide Flutter development and shape client-side architecture.

What will you do?

• Own the architecture of backend services and ensure their seamless integration with mobile and web applications.
• Lead technical design reviews and make architectural decisions across backend services, frontend applications, and infrastructure.
• Design scalable, resilient, cloud-native systems that support AI-driven coaching experiences and evolving product requirements.
• Break down complex technical and business requirements into independent, manageable tasks that can be implemented and delivered incrementally.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers to integrate backend services with applications, AI models, and cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across disciplines, helping maintain consistent engineering practices and architectural standards.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL or MySQL schemas to support performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Implement reliable database session management for high-concurrency environments, using SQLAlchemy or an equivalent ORM while ensuring thread safety.
• Apply dependency injection and modular design principles to improve code testability, maintainability, and separation of concerns.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services, database queries, and system architecture to improve scalability and reliability.
• Containerize backend services using Docker, orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes, and support production workloads on cloud platforms.
• Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native technologies to deploy, operate, and scale services.
• Document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger to support clear and consistent integration for internal and external consumers.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years designing production-scale systems.
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2 or C1) for comfortable verbal communication within an international team.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs involving scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost, and make well-reasoned technical decisions.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product disciplines.
• Extensive Python backend development experience (3+ years), including hands-on experience with Flask or FastAPI.
• Strong knowledge of SQLAlchemy or an equivalent ORM, particularly database session management for high-concurrency, thread-safe applications.
• Practical experience with dependency injection, modular architecture, and maintainable code design.
• Experience designing scalable database schemas and optimizing SQL queries for performance and data integrity.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and service orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• A self-driven, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with Pandas and NumPy for data analytics or machine learning-related tasks.
