Backend Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer based in Poland with expert-level PHP and strong Node.js experience to join a large, globally distributed engineering team. The role focuses on modernizing and scaling enterprise backend systems and progressively decomposing a large PHP monolith into modular services.
Requirements
— Based in Poland — mandatory.
— 5+ years of commercial backend experience.
— Expert-level PHP — mandatory.
— Strong experience with Node.js.
— Experience with enterprise-grade production systems.
— Hands-on experience with monolith refactoring/decomposition.
— Strong knowledge of REST/GraphQL API design and backend architecture.
— Experience with AWS, Lambda, API Gateway, and Serverless.
— Strong understanding of clean code, design principles, and software patterns.
— Experience with automated testing.
— Experience using AI coding tools and reviewing AI-generated code.
— English B2+, written and spoken.
— Ability to work independently in a remote, async-first environment.
