Aloha Mobile Ltd. develops Aloha Browser - a privacy-focused browser available across major platforms with 200M+ installs worldwide.
The product combines secure browsing, native encrypted VPN, advanced ad-blocking, privacy technologies and local/on-device AI. The company is actively developing agentic AI capabilities and building the next generation of privacy-first browsing experiences.
We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer who can combine deep technical expertise, strong engineering leadership and a product/business mindset.
The role
This is not a purely managerial CTO position.
We are looking for a hands-on technology leader who can own the technical vision, make architectural decisions, lead strong engineering teams and translate business/product KPIs into concrete engineering priorities.
The CTO will work closely with the Founder/CPO and C-level team and take ownership of technology decisions that directly impact MAU, LTV, product performance and company growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own the overall technology strategy and architecture across iOS, Android and Desktop.
- Lead and scale engineering teams working on a consumer product used by millions of users.
- Drive architecture of high-load, distributed and highly available systems.
- Translate business and product KPIs into engineering initiatives and measurable technical goals.
- Drive development in privacy, security, networking and local/hybrid AI.
- Lead high-impact R&D initiatives and evaluate new technologies based on their actual product/business impact.
- Ensure engineering excellence across performance, scalability, reliability and security.
- Build, develop and retain a high-performing engineering organization.
- Work closely with Product and other C-level stakeholders on product and technology strategy.
- Ensure compliance with Apple/Google platform requirements, privacy standards, security governance and global data regulations.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as CTO / VP of Engineering / Head of Engineering or in a comparable senior technology leadership role.
- Experience building and scaling mass-market B2C products with millions of users.
- Strong technical background — we need a CTO who can go deep into architecture and engineering, not only manage people.
- Strong expertise in mobile applications and/or browser technologies.
- Deep understanding of high-load distributed systems and architecture.
- Strong knowledge of low-level networking, security and cryptography.
- Experience or strong technical understanding of modern AI/ML, local/on-device or hybrid AI frameworks.
- Proven experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong data/product mindset: ability to connect engineering decisions with MAU, LTV and other business/product metrics.
- Ability to turn complex goals into clear technical priorities for engineering teams.
- Understanding of privacy, data sovereignty, security governance and App Store / Google Play ecosystems.
Strong advantage
Experience in one or several of these areas will be particularly valuable:
Browser technologies / AI companies / Mobile B2C / High-load consumer products / Backend & distributed systems / Privacy & Security.
Background in a successful technology startup or rapidly scaling product company is also highly relevant.
