CTO (Chief Technology Officer)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Fractional CTO who can analyze clients’ business processes, identify growth opportunities, and determine where technology, automation, and AI can deliver the greatest business impact.
This is a consulting role at the intersection of business, technology, and AI. The main objective is to translate business needs into practical technology solutions, define a technical strategy, and support implementation.
The engagement model is part-time / project-based, with involvement in client projects as needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical IT roles, with exposure to multiple IT functions and business-oriented responsibilities.
- Experience across multiple IT functions or a career transition between technical and business-oriented roles.
- Strong understanding of business processes and technology.
- Proven experience transforming business processes through technology.
- Experience developing technical strategies and technology roadmaps.
- Hands-on experience with AI / GenAI / AI automation / AI agents.
- Understanding of modern AI tools, integrations, and automation approaches.
- Experience working with developers, technical teams, and external contractors.
- Ability to explain complex technical solutions in business terms.
- Experience working with business owners, C-level executives, and senior management.
- Strong analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
- English B2+ for confident communication with international clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit business processes and identify bottlenecks that can be improved through technology, automation, and AI.
- Develop a technology strategy and roadmap aligned with the client’s business goals.
- Design and implement AI solutions and AI agents for sales, customer support, analytics, internal operations, and other business functions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, AI tools, platforms, and technical stacks.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
- Define tasks for developers and contractors and review architecture and technical solutions.
- Support project implementation and provide technical leadership.
- Advise founders and management on technology, AI, and product-related matters.
- Assess risks, complexity, costs, and expected business impact of technology initiatives.
- Help prioritize solutions based on their value to the business.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a CTO, Fractional CTO, Solution Architect, Engineering Manager, Technical Product Owner, or Technology Consultant.
- Experience building and launching digital products.
- Strong software development background.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes, AI solutions, or AI agents.
- Experience assessing ROI, implementation costs, and the financial impact of AI and automation initiatives.
