About Teambase
Teambase is an insurtech software vendor building cloud solutions for insurance carriers, brokers, and MGAs. Our platform runs entirely on Azure: a mature ASP.NET MVC product, new .NET 10 / Vue 3 services, and growing AI workloads. We are looking for a Middle+ engineer to look after this platform and make it repeatable, secure, cost-aware, observable, and audit-ready.
We are fully remote. The team is spread across Europe, the UAE, and other countries, and most collaboration happens in English, in writing, and across time zones.
Tech stack
Azure (App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Service Bus, Key Vault, Application Insights), Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, Bicep, Git, Claude Code.
What you will do
- Analyze Azure costs across prod, UAT, test, and dev, and implement safe savings: right-sizing, schedules, cleanup, reservations, and savings plans
- Build infrastructure as code with Bicep for new projects, replacing manual resource creation in the Azure Portal
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines for .NET, Azure Functions, Vue.js, database, and infrastructure deployments, with approvals and rollback
- Support day-to-day delivery: fix failing builds and deployments, manage build agents, and help developers and QA with releases
- Move secrets to Key Vault and managed identities, tighten RBAC, and secure service connections with workload identity federation
- Improve monitoring and alerting with Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics, and write runbooks for common incidents
- Support platform upgrades, such as moving Functions to the isolated worker model and .NET 10, and document everything
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Azure cloud, or platform engineering, including real production work, not only certifications
- App Service, Functions, WebJobs, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, managed identities, RBAC
- Strong Azure DevOps YAML pipelines: templates, variable groups, service connections, environments, approvals, artifacts
- Hands-on infrastructure as code, preferably Bicep (Terraform is a strong plus)
- Secure networking basics (private endpoints, VNets, NSGs, access restrictions) and least-privilege design
- Azure Cost Management: budgets, alerts, tagging, and the ability to explain savings in business terms
- Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics (KQL) for production troubleshooting
- English at Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher, spoken and written
Nice to have
- AI infrastructure: Azure OpenAI / Microsoft Foundry deployments (quotas, provisioned throughput, EU data residency), an AI gateway on Azure API Management, hosting agents and MCP servers on Container Apps or Functions
- Client security audits: security questionnaires, ISO 27001 / SOC 2 control mapping, audit evidence, awareness of DORA and GDPR
- Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Entra PIM, Azure Verified Modules, deployment stacks
- Docker, Azure Container Apps, SSDT / DACPAC, Playwright tests in CI
How we work with AI
Claude Code is our standard development tool, and every engineer gets a seat on our team subscription. You own every change you submit, whoever or whatever wrote it.
What we offer
- Hands-on ownership of the Azure platform for a live insurtech product, with real influence on how it’s built, secured, and paid for
- Platform-building work: the IaC baseline, pipeline standards, and monitoring for new projects
- AI infrastructure initiatives: model deployments, AI gateway, and agent hosting
- Flexible part-time schedule, fully remote, in an international team
- [Contract type and payment, e.g. contractor / FOP, paid monthly in USD]
